Cyclist Killed in Tragic Crash in Oxnard
A man on a bicycle was killed Monday night after getting struck by a truck in southern Oxnard. The VC Star reports the accident took place around 7:40 p.m. along Saviers Road on September 19, 2022.
Oxnard police responded to the scene at the intersection of Glacier Avenue to find a cyclist down and suffering from what were described as major injuries. The cyclist was rushed to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Officers say the cyclist was crossing Saviers Road westbound toward Glacier when he was struck by a man driving a Ford F-150 pickup. The driver remained on the scene to cooperate with investigators. There’s been no word on what led to the accident or if the driver, a 35-year-old Oxnard man, faces any charges.
Support for Families After an Oxnard Bicycle Accident
Families who lose a loved one in a tragic bicycle accident will be emotionally devastated and may face extreme financial difficulties in the aftermath. Families can barely have time to say goodbye to a close relative when they receive invoices for a burial service. They may also see leftover medical bills and emergency response fees arrive in their mailbox.
After loved ones have lost their lives through no fault of their own, families should never have to face the costs remaining alone. A spouse or a child of the deceased can file a wrongful death claim against an at-fault driver’s insurance company on behalf of the rest of the family.
This claim can earn support to protect the family and help offer support for the guidance and income the victim will no longer be able to contribute. This support can help a family left behind rebuild their lives and safeguard their future.
