Pedestrians along Highway 1 through Ventura County and near beach access areas are at risk from the traffic that passes along the popular highway. Drivers can be enjoying the views or be distracted by a cellphone and pass too close to parking areas where people are standing and walking.
Drivers are legally responsible to be extra cautious whenever they pass areas that are frequently used by pedestrians. Drivers must slow down in order to avoid any possible collisions with a defenseless walker. This includes beach parking areas where anyone who gets out of a car becomes a pedestrian and deserves additional attention from drivers.

Helping Families File Wrongful Death Claims After Ventura County Pedestrian Accidents
California allows families who have lost a loved one in a traffic accident to seek justice by filing a pedestrian accident wrongful death claim. This claim permits families to seek financial help now and in the future as they face the costs that arise after a tragic death.
Families can ask for economic assistance with the costs of a memorial service and burial. They should seek help with ambulance fees and any medical costs left over after the deceased has passed on. They are also encouraged to seek income replacement now that a loved one will no longer be able to provide a paycheck to help support family members in the years to come.
