Tour Bus Crash Kills 1, Injures 32 on 60 Fwy in Hacienda Hts

Hacienda Heights, CA – On the morning of Sunday, May 11, 2025, a collision between a tour bus and an SUV resulted in one fatality and dozens of injuries, according to KCAL.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident occurred around 5:03 AM on the westbound 60 Freeway near Azusa Avenue.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a Nissan SUV became disabled in the number one lane of the freeway for unknown reasons. A tour bus traveling in the same lane struck the stationary vehicle, causing the SUV to catch fire.

The bus, which was carrying approximately 63 passengers, veered across all lanes of traffic before crashing into a guardrail on the right shoulder.

The driver of the Nissan SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Thirty-two passengers aboard the bus were transported for treatment of injuries ranging from minor to critical. At least two individuals sustained life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Due to the large number of injured passengers, emergency crews from Los Angeles County Fire and CHP conducted field triage at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Personal Injury Claims

If you or someone you love has been injured in an accident like the one above, the parties responsible for those injuries can also be held responsible for their costs through a Personal Injury Claim. Victims may be eligible to receive compensation for their medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, and other damages. While an individual can file a Personal Injury Claim on their own, the more serious the injuries, the more valuable it becomes to work with the help of an experienced personal injury attorney.

Wrongful Death Claims

When a loved one loses their life in a fatal accident, families often find themselves overwhelmed with the financial burdens of hospital bills, funeral costs, and the loss of support for dependents of the deceased. A Wrongful Death Claim allows surviving family members to receive the support they need to begin moving forward after a tragic loss.
