Sexual Assaults at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard

Oxnard Police arrested a registered nurse on charges of sexual assault on a patient. According to investigators, a female victim says the assault happened during an emergency room visit to St. John’s Regional Medical Center on Rose Avenue in Oxnard.

A media release from the Oxnard Police Department provides more information on the suspect.  He is a 37-year-old man from Santa Barbara named Graham Fusch. He was taken into custody around 3 p.m. on March 11, 2022. Mr. Fusch was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and then released on 100,000 dollars bail.

Officers with the Oxnard Police Department’s Family Protection Unit fear there may be other victims of this suspect who haven’t stepped forward. Some news reports indicate that Graham Fusch once worked at Lompoc Valley Medical Center.

Anyone with information regarding this sex assault case or any similar incidents at any nearby hospitals involving Graham Fusch should contact Detective Kevin Adair (805) 385-7663. Finding Justice for Sexual Assault Victims After a Violation of Trust

It’s hard to imagine, but a person in a position of authority providing care for patients or residents can take advantage of that power. An employee at a nursing home or someone who works to provide lifesaving care at a hospital can abuse that trust and commit acts of sexual assault.

The victims of this unthinkable abuse of power are encouraged to come forward. They deserve justice and should seek to earn support through litigation against any guilty party.  A hospital or healthcare facility may bear liability for a victim’s pain and suffering. Questions can arise about how someone who could commit such acts could pass through background checks and the hiring process at a hospital.

The legal professionals at Quirk Accident & Injury Attorneys in Ventura County also know that victims deciding to come forward about abuse must feel completely protected during such a vulnerable time. It’s our goal to help victims reach closure with as little disturbance to their everyday lives as possible.
